Rodney Moeller

Rodney Moeller was born and raised in Austin, Texas where he attended Crocket High School. At the age of 14, he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, and after graduating with an associates degree in Criminal Justice, Rodney worked at his father’s store, South Austin Auto Supply.

Rodney joined the Austin Police Department in July of 1992, and after several years of being on patrol, he was selected to be a part of the License and Weight Unit in 1996. Through this, he was trained and certified in Federal Regulations for all inspections including hazardous materials and cargo tanker. Throughout his time in this unit, he received several awards including top inspector and trainer. After promoting to the rank of Sergeant, he was selected to be the coordinator of the License and Weight program, which soon after changed its name to “Commercial Vehicle Enforcement.” 

He started the process of Motorcoach Inspection at Circuit of America racetrack for F-1 races which involved inspectors from county, city, state and federal agencies. Here, Level 1 Federal Inspection on every Motorcoach was performed which involves inspecting the buses and taking the unsafe buses out of service before any passenger had the opportunity to board. This program received recognition from Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). Rodney retired from the Austin Police Department in March of 2021 after 29 years of service, which included 16 years in truck safety.

Rodney brings his lifetime of knowledge and expertise with commercial fleets to the Waterloo team. His advice and consulting help to truly protect our clients and bring value added services that set us apart as an agency.

Rodney has been married to Dawna for 26 years and has a daughter and son-in-law who live in Leander, Tx.  They also have a son who is currently attending the University of Oklahoma studying Aerospace Engineering. In his free time, he enjoys wood working, and traveling.
